Fresh off his stellar performance and excellent victory in the DREAM Grand Prix finals Gegard Mousasi has already set a new goal on the horizon. He challenged Yoshihiro Akiyama asking him for a fight at New Year's Eve. Worth to mention Akiyama is the winner of K-1 GERO's Grand Prix 2007.
At the moment Mousasi and Akiyama are two best middleweight in Japan, moreover they both boast victories over such stand-outs like Denis Kang and Melvin Manhoef so their clash seems more than inevitable. Akiyama's consent is expected.
Moreover Gegard will almost definitely be fighting at the third show of Affliction due in 2009.
