05/31/2008 ‘Iberian Eye': Spain vs. Holland, USA vs. Finland. Daniel Tabera Finally Will Fight At Home (from adcombat.com)
M-1 Spain will take place on May 31rst of 2008, for the first time in history an event of this size and importance will take place in this European country. Another important occurrence marking this event is that Daniel Tabera will at last have an opportunity to fight at home on Spanish soil. Both mark a definite landmark in this countries MMA history.
The M-1 organization is coming with everything and everyone, from Japan they are bringing in Sotaro Shinoda (Vice President of the legendary PRIDE) as well as PRIDE’s central judge Daisuke Noguchi.
From Holland Gilbert Yvel is coming to give a seminar sponsored by M-1 on the 30th. The Dutch team, ‘M-1 Holland’ consists of five fighters and veteran trainer Bert Kops, who will be one of two coaches for this team. Meanwhile the American team ‘M-1 USA’ is lead by Rigan Machado.
Of course we can’t forget about team ‘M-1 Spain’ which will once again have it’s three coaches (Alejandro Iglesias, Chinto Mordillo y Juan Carlos Sosa) who together will collaborate in every instance to provide the assistance their fighters will need before, during and after the event. Heavyweight starter Carmelo Molina will not be able to participate this time around but will return for the June 27th event in St. Petersburg, Russia. ‘Team Spain’ will be participating also in France against team Japan and in Finland against ‘M-1 Europe.’
Other Spaniards, Carles Valeri and Jonathan León will be hungry for a victory, while super technical Juanma Suárez will continue in line. Finally in the last Superfight of the event will feature Daniel Tabera who will experience a fight at home for the first time. For the first time he will be able feel and count on the support of friendly fans rather than the hostile environments, which he is unfortunately accustomed to.
